ORIGINAL TEST: Strawberry Yogurt

SEE REVISED TEST POSTED APRIL 16, 2012

Test date: July 2009

Tester: Michele

All products for this test purchased at Winco, with stores in WA, OR, ID, CA, NV

MICHELE'S OPINION: Save $0.19 per serving and enjoy Activia, with a nice strawberry flavor and creamy consistency. However, ounce per ounce, when purchased from this grocery store, Activia and Tillamook are the same ($0.11 per ounce), so if you like eating 6oz at a time instead of 4oz, and enjoy a really rich, creamy dessert-style yogurt, go for the Tillamook. Read on for more details on price and taste:

PRICE COMPARISON FOR 4OZ YOGURT:
$0.45 Activia
$0.45 YoPlus+
$0.44 Tillamook
$0.29 Lucerne

1. Lucerne Light Yogurt: Very light, airy consistency, not a rich flavor, can taste additives

2. Activia: Creamy consistency, authentic strawberry flavor

3. YoPlus+: Creamy yet slightly grainy texture, light and fragrant strawberry flavor

4. Tillamook Lowfat Yogurt: Very, very creamy, almost like soft serve yogurt, has a wild strawberry flavor, can taste the field that the strawberries come from

TASTE WINNER: Tillamook Lowfat Yogurt, but personally I couldn't eat this for breakfast, it's just too rich. I would eat this for dessert or an afternoon snack.
