Target recently opened a grocery section in our local store. I believe the northwest is one of the later regions to receive this new layout, as per Target's website, they already have 251 "SuperTargets" in 22 states. I was curious to find out how their prices compare to other grocery stores in this area, and I have to admit that I was very surprised with the results!
The most surprising result is that overall, Target's grocery prices are as inexpensive as Trader Joe's, and much less than QFC, Amazon Fresh, and other stores that I profiled in my first "store price comparison" post.
Their selection is very limited, so realistically I could see myself shopping at Target for something else and if I needed one last ingredient for dinner that night, I could pick it up there. But I wouldn't do my weekly shopping there - there is just not enough selection.
